Armed Robberies On The Rise In Downtown Chicago, Police Warn
Police are looking for a group of 3 to 4 men and 1 woman who they think are responsible for 7 reported armed robberies in the tourist area.

CHICAGO — An uptick in armed robberies downtown has prompted Chicago police to warn residents and visitors to stay vigilant in the area, a notice from CPD said Friday.
Officials said in all seven reported incidents, three to four men and one woman approached someone, displayed multiple handguns and demanded their valuables. The group then ran off and escaped in either a white SUV or black Honda CRV, police said.
Each incident has occurred in the early morning hours between midnight and about 6 a.m., according to officers.

Police recommend visitors and residents avoid traveling alone, remain aware of their surroundings, and comply if approached by a robber. Officials also stressed the importance of remembering identifying characteristics such as tattoos, scars or limps.
