Bomb Threats Targeting Chicago During DNC Not A Credible Danger: Police

A threat sent to FOX 32 referenced the convention and included antisemitic language.

CHICAGO — Bomb threats Tuesday targeting locations in Chicago’s city center in connection with the Democratic National Convention posed no credible danger, according to authorities.

The U.S. Secret Service and Chicago Police Department investigated the bomb threats made Tuesday at “a number of locations” in downtown Chicago where the convention is taking place. Law enforcement cleared the affected areas and are continuing to assess any reported threats.

A threat emailed to FOX 32 said there were pipe bombs at the Hotel Chicago West Loop, the Hyatt House Chicago West Loop, and the Hyatt House Chicago University District, the station reported, adding authorities were also searching Nobu Hotel.
