BREAKING: All Lanes Reopen on Bishop Ford After Report of Suspicious Package

State police shut down part of the Bishop Ford Expressway to investigate a suspicious package.

CHICAGO — All lanes of the Bishop Ford Expressway are open this afternoon following a report of a suspicious package at 157th Street. The package, found in the northbound lanes at 157th Street, is being investigated by the Cook County Bomb Squad, according to WGN.

State police shut down part of the South Side’s Bishop Ford Expressway from 159th Street to 147th Street for about 30 minutes Wednesday.

ISP Trooper Woodrow Montgomery said the Cook County Bomb and Arson Team was called to the scene to investigate. Illinois State Police say the package turned out to be an “encased vehicle tracking device.”
