Chicago Drops Arizona, North Carolina From Travel Quarantine List
Chicagoans traveling to and from South Dakota must now quarantine for 14 days, public health officials say.

CHICAGO — Public health officials Tuesday updated the list of states on the city's travel quarantine list, adding South Dakota while dropping Arizona and North Carolina.
The emergency travel order currently requires Chicagoans to self-quarantine for 14 days after traveling to or from 18 states and Puerto Rico.
City officials have decided to not order Chicagoans to self-quarantine within Illinois, which according to public health data meets the criteria for being included on the emergency travel order.

State public health officials on Monday announced new coronavirus mitigation efforts have been ordered in Will and Kankakee counties, which each reported at least 8-percent coronavirus test positivity for three consecutive days.
Chicago has an average of 12.6 cases per 100,000 people, and Illinois' coronavirus case rate is 15.9 per 100,000, public health officials said.

"Virtually the whole state [of Illinois] is seeing a level of cases that is of concern," Arwady said.
She urged people to "keep their guard up" by wearing masks, washing their hands often and maintaining social distance.
