CHICAGO — A Chicago man is facing federal gun charges after federal authorities say he illegally possessed machine guns.
Juan Infante, 28, was charged with illegal possession of machine guns and illegal possession of firearms as a convicted felon, according to the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.
According to the indictment, Infante is accused of illegally possessing four handguns, with two of the handguns equipped with conversion devices called "Glock switches.". These devices turned the handguns into machine guns, capable of automatically firing more than one shot with a single pull of the trigger.
