So what I’m gathering is that Comcast has a nationwide outage that started in California last night and has now spread to Chicago, all of New Jersey, parts of PA and more. Great. Glad we pay all that money money for this. @Xfinity @XfinitySupport

Comcast and Xfinity initially did not publicly address the outage across their social media accounts. Late Tuesday morning, Comcast gave an update saying service is being restored, but did not say what caused the outage.
"Earlier, some customers experienced intermittent service disruptions as a result of a network issue,"Robert Groves, Comcast's vice president for communications, said in a statement to Patch. "We have addressed the issue and service is now restoring for impacted customers, as we continue to investigate the root cause. We apologize to those who were affected."
Around 8:20 a.m., some residents were reporting their internet access had been restored, but it was not clear when service will be fully restored nationwide, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
