- A federal judge dismissed former WTMX-FM broadcaster Melissa McGurren's $10 million defamation lawsuit against the station that was connected to sexual harassment allegations against her former co-host Eric Ferguson, Jeff Arnold reports. (Patch)
- Two Chicago police officers were shot and wounded early Friday ambush at a hot dog stand on the West Side. A man who dropped a gun in front of the officers, picked up the gun and immediately opened fire. One officer was shot in the head, and the other was shot in the leg. (Patch)
