Here are the top three stories today in Chicago:

  1. The Illinois State Police are investigating a shooting on the outbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway on the South Side of Chicago, which was reported at approximately 5:10 a.m. on Wednesday. Chicago police contacted the state police after the shooting victim walked into a police station. The outbound lanes at 83rd Street were closed for the investigation but were later reopened. (WLS-TV)
  2. The Chicago City Council passed the Smart Streets Pilots Ordinance yesterday, which will establish two pilot programs aiming to improve traffic safety, protect pedestrians and bicyclists, and speed up public transportation. The pilots will enforce parking violations and enable camera-based management of parking in commercial loading zones. The programs aim to encourage better driver behavior, reduce crashes, and ensure that bike and bus lanes are working efficiently. (chicago.gov)
  3. Chicago Police are requesting assistance from the public to locate Tony Lloyd, who was last seen on Mar. 6 in the Lawndale neighborhood. Lloyd is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair, and wearing a black jacket and dark blue jeans. He was last seen in the 1600 block of South Ridgeway Avenue. (CBS Chicago)
