Dave's Hot Chicken Opens First Chicago Location, More Planned

The LA-based restaurant serves Nashville-style hot chicken. It's backed by Samuel L. Jackson, Drake and other celebrity investors.

CHICAGO — A Los Angeles-based fast-food restaurant backed by actor Samuel L. Jackson, rapper Drake and other celebrity investors is set to open its first Chicago location, Eater Chicago reports.

Dave’s Hot Chicken serves (halal-certified) Nashville-style hot chicken and all the accouterments — macaroni and cheese, fries, slaw and milkshakes. According to the magazine, its new 2,500-square-foot location at 3643 N. Western Avenue in North Center was originally a pop-up, but now the second of 16 permanent locations planned for the Chicago area. The restaurant will offer 40 indoor seats.

Dave's first Chicagoland location opened over the summer in Naperville. A second suburban location is planned for Melrose Park by the end of January, according to Eater. The chain, which launched in LA in 2017, now has more than a dozen locations in California, Colorado, Nevada, Texas, Canada and Illinois.

The restaurant is open 9:15 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday to Thursday, 9:15 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
