The 20-year-old, a member of the university men's soccer team, died "unexpectedly," officials said.

CHICAGO — A DePaul University student-athlete died Monday on the school’s Lincoln Park campus in Chicago, officials said.
Chase Stegall “passed away unexpectedly” Monday morning in a residence hall, according to a message to the university community from President Robert Manuel and Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy.
The 20-year-old Atlanta native was a sophomore studying marketing and communications as well as a member of the university’s men’s soccer team, according to officials. In the 2024 season, Stegall, a midfielder, played in 16 of the team’s 17 games and scored one goal against Drake University on Sept. 2.
