ILLINOIS — As the air starts to crisp and pumpkin spice fills grocery store shelves, local festivals are gearing up to celebrate the end of summer and welcome the return of all things fall.

From live music to food to Halloween-themed frights, Illinois will have no shortage of festivals for residents to enjoy in the coming months. So grab a blanket, some apple cider and your best leaf-crunching boots before scrolling through our event roundup.


Halloween Hoedown: A day of spooks and scares across the area for Halloweekend. Goosebumps parties, trick or treating and a scarecrow fest are only some of the can't-miss events across Lemont on the weekend of Oct. 23.

Folk Fest At The Grove: The October event will bring live concerts, a beer tent and historic demonstrations to The Grove. Details are still to come, but the event is scheduled for Oct. 3.

New Lenox 75th Anniversary: The Village of New Lenox will turn 75 on Oct. 4, but those eager to celebrate can get a head start from Oct. 1-3. Live music, carnival rides and a pie-eating contest can be seen at the Village Commons.

Brew at the Bridge: Event organizers invite residents to the weekend brew festival by saying "Let's listen to some great music while trying awesome beer on a sunny afternoon." The event will take place along the Fox River in Oswego on the afternoon of Oct. 9. More details to come.
