- Chicago firefighter Jermaine Pelt has died and two others were injured while fighting a fire Tuesday morning. The fire started in a 2 ½ story home in the West Pullman neighborhood and spread to two neighboring buildings. Pelt went down after he and other firefighters were ordered out of the building they were in. The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time. (Chicago Patch)
- The threat of severe thunderstorms caused flight cancelations and delays at O'Hare and Midway International Airports on Tuesday. Travel difficulties were created for many travelers during spring break and Holy Week due to the cancelations and delays. O'Hare Airport alone is expected to see a 6.7 percent increase in passenger numbers this week. (NBC Chicago)
- The University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center has joined the National Comprehensive Cancer Network as the 33rd academic center in the United States to contribute to multidisciplinary expert consensus recommendations for cancer care. UChicago is recognized for its work in improving outcomes for underserved populations and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. They offer innovative educational, clinical, and research programs with a focus on underrepresented populations in oncology. (Newswise)
