CHICAGO, IL — Independence Day is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on in and around Chicago for 2023.

Though the city fireworks display was officially held July 1, Patch gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening near Chicago.

JULY 3: “Light Up the Night” Fireworks. Held after sunset.

BRIDGEVIEW

JULY 3: 3rd of July Celebration & Fireworks. Includes a DJ and food trucks.

DES PLAINES

JULY 4: Parade. This year’s theme is “Together We Shine.”

ELMWOOD PARK

JULY 4: Parade. “It’s back and better than ever.”

EVANSTON

JULY 4: Parade, Concert & Fireworks. The city marks its 100th Independence Day celebration with family activities, a fun run, fireworks and more.

OAK PARK

JULY 4: Oak Park. "The many dimensions of diversity in Oak Park are on display” at this annual event. Fireworks will not be held this year.

OAK LAWN

JULY 4: Fireworks. Presented by the village and park district.

PALOS
