Illinois' Best Spooky Yard: Haunted Mansion On Homestead Wins
In honor of spooky season, Patch asked readers to vote for their favorite yard haunt. Here's the winner.

LA GRANGE PARK, IL — Spooky season is almost over, but before it's gone, it's time to pay tribute to the winner of Patch's first-ever haunted yard contest.
The winner — who gets a $100 Amazon gift card — was chosen the by more than 2,000 Patch readers from among our editor-nominated entries.
The competition was tough. From a choreographed video that transforms a suburban home into a horror movie hellscape to a daycare of the damned to a sweet, Peanuts-themed haunt, there were too many great entries to pick just one.

We left that decision to you, the readers, and you overwhelmingly voted for the Haunted Mansion on Homestead, 836 Homestead Road in La Grange Park. The Haunted Mansion took more than 47 percent of the vote in Patch's reader poll.
The Haunted Mansion pays homage to Disney and was created last year by Don Coglianese and his family. This year, the loving recreation of Disney's Haunted Mansion is even bigger and better — three times larger than it was in 2020.
