Bradley Donovan, 47, of Springfield, was killed along with men from Arizona and New Jersey in the crash on I-70 that also injured 14 people.

HIGHLAND, IL — A 47-year-old Springfield man is among the three people who were killed after a Greyhound bus crashed early Wednesday morning in Highland, Illinois.
The Hamilton County Coroner on Thursday announced that Bradley Donovan was killed early Wednesday in the early-morning crash, along with Juan E. Vasquez-Rodriguez, 34, of Passaic, New Jersey, and Buford Pena, 71, of Supai, Arizona.
The three men sustained head, abdominal and thoracic injuries in the crash, the coroner said. The Illinois State Police also said at least 14 people were injured in the crash that occurred when the bus struck three semi-tractor trailers that were parked along the side of Interstate 70.

Investigators said that the bus was only three miles from reaching its destination at a St. Louis bus station when the crash took place.
Police are still working to determine what caused the crash, which took place just after 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning. The bus was coming from Indianapolis and police said that the driver was along those hospitalized.

The union representing the bus company said that the driver — who has not been identified — remains in serious condition in a local hospital. Amalgamated Transit Union expressed sympathy to the victims of the crash along with their families.
Four people were taken to local hospitals by helicopter, and the remaining 10 were taken by ambulance. State Police officials said that it would require more time for toxicology reports to come back to determine more information about the crash victims.
"Our primary concern is ensuring we care for our passengers and driver at this time. We are working closely with local authorities," Greyhound spokesperson Mike Ogulnick said.
