CHICAGO — JPMorgan Chase Bank is suing former Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot after she failed to pay thousands in credit card bills, according to court records and a report from The Chicago Tribune.

The consumer debt complaint was filed in September and Lightfoot was served with a summons in October, according to the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County.

The bank claimed she did not pay $11,078 in bills, the Tribune reported, citing a copy of the complaint and adding that a spokesperson for Lightfoot, who served as mayor from 2019 to 2023, declined to comment Monday.
