  • A former Chicago Park District attorney filed a defamation lawsuit against Mayor Lori Lightfoot that alleges he was the target of a foul-mouthed tongue lashing. "My d--- is bigger than yours," the lawsuit claims Lightfoot said. (NBC5)
  • Chicago Public Schools' local school councils need you. Across the district, 722 candidate applications had been submitted for 6,239 total positions on councils across 509 schools as of Friday, and 307 schools had zero candidates for open positions. (Chalkbeat)
  • A 70-year-old "serial stowaway" was sentenced to more than three years in prison. Marilyn Hartman pleaded guilty to felony counts of criminal trespass and escape from electronic monitoring. In a written statement, Hartman said she is “happy to move on with my life.” (NBC5)
  • In some parts of town, gas prices are nearing the $5-a-gallon mark. Blame Russia. (ABC7)
