1. The boyfriend of a woman found dead in a Logan Square apartment has been charged with concealing her homicide, WGN reports. Police said Genesis Silva, 34, faces felony charges “of concealing homicidal death and one misdemeanor count of obstructing a police officer” in connection to the murder of Brittany Battaglia, whose body was found “nearly decapitated” in a duffle bag. 2. Employees of Chicago Public Schools could receive a 12-week paid parental leave option this fall, Mayor Brandon Johnson announced Thursday. District CEO Pedro Martinez said it would add $10 million to the CPS budget but it is a “worthwhile investment.” Other city officials already have 12-week leave. (WTTW)

3. Smoke from Canada wildfires continue to impact air quality in the northeast, CBS reports. Air quality alerts caused flight delays and cancellations at Chicago airports Wednesday. (CBS)
4. President Joe Biden will visit Chicago later this month for a fundraiser hosted by Gov. J.B. Pritzker and his wife M.K. The event is “expected to draw the Chicago area’s most substantial Democratic donors.” (WBEZ)
