CHICAGO, IL — A 19-year-old man from Oklahoma committed suicide by jumping from a South Loop building New Year's Eve, according to the Chicago Tribune. Vinicius Franco, of Norman, Oklahoma, was found near the fifth floor pool after leaping from a higher floor of the building in the 1000 block of South State Street, the report added.

According to Chicago police, Franco was unresponsive when he was discovered at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, the report stated. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 9:14 p.m. the same night, the report added.

The Cook County medical examiner's office ruled Franco's death a suicide Monday, the report stated. The agency also determined that the teen had died from multiple injuries caused by his fall following an autopsy Monday, the report added.
