Here are the top three stories in Chicago today:
- Two Chicago men have been arrested and charged with stealing more than a dozen catalytic converters in Sioux Falls. The men were caught after a Jackson County, Minnesota, trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Mar. 2 with a vehicle and a chase ensued. When the vehicle crashed, officials found the men with 22 stolen catalytic converters inside. The men, who were described as in their 20s, were arrested on local warrants. (Yahoo! Voices)
- The city of Chicago has reached an $80 million settlement with five pharmaceutical companies over their role in the opioid epidemic. The companies involved include McKesson, Cardinal Health, and Johnson & Johnson, among others. The settlement money will be used to fund addiction treatment and other programs aimed at combating the opioid crisis in Chicago. (Subscription: Crain's Chicago Business)
- A 17-year-old was arrested after a home invasion that resulted in the death of three people in Bolingbrook — about 45 minutes outside Chicago. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, and officers found four people with gunshot wounds upon arriving at the scene. The suspect, who is believed to have acted alone and had a relationship with one of the victims, was identified and taken into custody by police. (NBC Chicago)
