Police Searching For Man Who Attempted To Assault Postal Worker: CPD

Chicago Police have released surveillance footage of the man who they said attempted to sexually assault the woman in her postal truck.

CHICAGO — Chicago Police have released surveillance footage of a man they say attempted to sexually assault a postal worker in her truck on Saturday morning in the city's Little Village neighborhood.

Police said the 28-year-old postal worker had gotten into her truck in the 2800 block of South Pulaski Road just before 10 a.m. on Saturday. The man got into the truck and attempted to sexually assault the woman, but she was able to escape after finding the man inside the vehicle, police said.

The man then stole the mail truck, which was later found in the 4500 block of West Marquette. The woman was taken to Saint Anthony Hospital for observation, but she did not report any injuries.

U.S. Postal officials are offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the man, who is considered armed and dangerous. Police said the man has tattoos on his head, arms and chest. Police warn residents not to approach the man shown in the video should they see him, but instead to call 911.
