1. Four women were critically injured when their car crashed into a semi-truck Wednesday morning in the 7900 block of South Pulaski. Police said the car’s driver was speeding and ran a red light when it crashed into the semi. (WGN)

2. An outbreak of Salmonella has been reported in connection with ground beef. More than 25 cases "have been reported in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, Will and suburban Cook counties," according to NBC Chicago. (NBC)

3. Mayor Brandon Johnson said Wednesday he is meeting with Chicago Bears officials to try to keep the team in the city, Patch reports. "We are both committed to the idea that the city and its major civic institutions must grow and evolve together to meet the needs of the future,” Johnson said in a joint statement with Bears President Kevin Warren. 4. Yesterday’s White Sox game at Yankee Stadium was postponed due to poor air quality in the New York area, stemming from wildfires in Canada. A double header will be played today in the Bronx. (Patch)
