Second Humboldt Park Gator Likely A Hoax: Chicago Police
A Facebook Live video of a second Humboldt Park gator surfaced, but Chicago hero and gator expert Frank Robb is skeptical.

CHICAGO, IL — Weeks after a gator dubbed Chance the Snapper infiltrated Humboldt Park and the hearts and minds of Chicagoans, a second gator was found in the water. Maybe.
Chance the Snapper, a four-to-five-foot gator, was on the loose for nearly a week, causing authorities to shut down portions of the lagoon in order to keep the populace safe. Now, a local claims to have caught a second gator, but police have their questions.
Carlos Jiménez Flores posted a video on Facebook Saturday night showing the alligator, about three feet long, with its mouth taped shut.

Two men on the scene gave police inconsistent statements, according to police. Authorities consulted with Frank Robb, a gator expert from Florida who was called to help find Chance the Snapper.
"Based on the inconsistencies and information provided by Frank Robb, the subjects were taken into custody on scene and transported to the 014th District for investigation," Anthony Guglielmi of the Chicago Police Department said in a statement.

Robb gained fame after arriving in Chicago and managing to trap Chance — who had been at large for nearly a week — just hours later.
Animal control came to the park and picked up the gator. Robb told police it was likely a juvenile and "could not have been in the lagoon for any period of time," police said.
