- Former Chicago top cop Garry McCarthy has a new gig. He's been tapped as interim police chief in suburban Willow Springs. (Patch)
- The playoff-bound Bulls will be without Lonzo Ball, who never fully recovered after undergoing meniscus surgery in January. The Bulls are currently the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference playoff pairings and qualified for the postseason for the first time since 2017 . (Patch)
- A pregnant woman got carjacked in the Loop Tuesday night. The 26-year-old woman was walking to her car in the 100 block of North Dearborn around 10 p.m when two people with guns demanded her keys. Two juveniles are in custody. (CBS2)
- NHL Hall of Famer Marion Hossa will retire as a member of the Blackhawks. Hossa, who won three Stanley Cup titles with the Hawks, will sign a one-day contract to finish his career in Chicago. (Patch)
- Major League Baseball is back. The Cubs season opens today at Wrigley Field against the Brewers, if it doesn't get rained out. The Sox play their first game (without Tim Anderson, who is serving the first of a two-game suspension) in Detroit. (Patch)
