CHICAGO — Taylor Swift fans hoping to see the singer live in Chicago may be out of luck or may have to fork over thousands of dollars after Ticketmaster announced Thursday that its Friday sale for the singer’s The Eras Tour was canceled.

“Due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow's public on-sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been cancelled,” Ticketmaster tweeted.

The announcement came after a turbulent week for Swifties that saw those willing to wait in hourslong online presale queues sometimes come up ticketless. Tickets also surfaced on StubHub and other resale sites for six figures.
