- U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley politely announced he will not run for mayor on Tuesday. The North Side congressman said that at his age, 63, he doesn't think he and his family "can make this kind of commitment." He's keeping his office on Capitol Hill. (Patch)
- A UPS driver has been charged with stealing nearly $190,000 in Louis Vuitton merchandise. Pedro Caudillo, 26, loaded boxes of the luxury designer gear onto his UPS truck and delivered them to his house rather than their destination. (CWB)
- A teenage boy was struck and killed by an Amtrak train near Logan Square on Thursday. Wyatt Daniel Bodley-Reed, 17, was hit by the train around 9:30 a.m. in the 3900 block of West Armitage Avenue. (Patch)
- A 16-year-old girl was charged with a string of four carjackings in Chinatown. She also was accused of stealing a car that was left running with a 7-year-old inside in Bridgeport, authorities said. (Patch)
- The worst-kept secret in Chicago politics is out. Mayor Lori Lightfoot plans to announce a re-election bid. When will Lightfoot make it official? "Soon," Jenna Barnes reports. (WGN9)
