CHICAGO — Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox fans who want to watch the teams' games on television will need to tune in to the Chicago Sports Network on channels 62.2 and 62.3 starting Oct. 1.

The network this week announced an over-the-air agreement with Millennial Telecommunications’ WJYS TV for games to be televised on the channels, which will convert to high-definition starting Oct. 1.

The network will replace NBC Sports Chicago, which will go off air Sept. 30, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

“We are making our content available on the platforms that our fans can watch,” network President Jason Coyle said in a news release. “For those households who, for whatever reason, choose over-the-air as their primary viewing platform, they now have an opportunity to see the games and build even stronger connections with the teams and personalities they love."

About 600,000 Chicago area households without a paid television service will need an over-the-air antenna that receives the channels. Those who already have such an antenna should do a fresh scan of available channels after the change. Comcast does not carry the channels, according to the Sun-Times.

The network is nearing a DirecTV agreement for local availability on DirecTV Stream and U-Verse, the Sun-Times reported.

The channels’ schedule will include locally broadcast regular season games as well as certain pre-season and playoff games. The Blackhawks and Bulls preseason will be part of the Oct. 1 launch. Sox games will be available starting in March.
