Chicago Heights Man Shot Dead In University Park

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — Demetrius Ferguson of Chicago Heights was shot Tuesday night in University Park. His death has been ruled a homicide.

According to the Sun-Times, the 37-year-old man was shot in the chest at about 10:20 p.m. at the 500 block of University Parkway.

He was pronounced dead at 11:15 p.m. at Franciscan St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

In his autopsy Wednesday, the office ruled his death as a homicide.
