3 Shot, 1 Killed In Targeted Incident: Hazel Crest Police
Police believe three men were all shot in the same incident Wednesday. No one is in custody.
HAZEL CREST, IL — Three men were shot and one died in what Hazel Crest police called a targeted incident Wednesday, according to a release.
Hazel Crest police were called Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. to a home in the 3300 block of Birchwood after receiving multiple reports of shots fired. Police found two men suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.
Officers rendered aid until the men were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center for further treatment. One of the men transported, identified at this time only as an 18-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

While police were at the original scene, a third gunshot victim was dropped off at Advocate South Suburban Hospital. Police determined that all three victims were shot in the same incident.
Details indicate that the incident was targeted and isolated, and there is no danger or threat to the public, police said.

Hazel Crest Police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating. At this point, there is no one in custody, police said Thursday.
