Β
βThe decision to appoint Captain Anthony Mascolino as Assistant Fire Chief has been one of my easiest as Fire Chief because of Anthonyβs professionalism and his 23 years of tested experience at the Chicago Heights Fire Department,βΒ said Springer. βThe department and the City of Chicago Heights are fortunate to have Anthony serving in this critical role.β
Β
Mayor David Gonzalez echoed the fire chiefβs comments.
Β
βAnthony Mascolino has been a standout example of a professional first responder upon whom his colleagues and the residents of Chicago Heights can depend in an emergency,βΒ said Gonzalez. βPersonally, I want to thank him for his more than two decades of service to our community as well as to congratulate him on his new, well-deserved job.β
Β
Leadership is about βinspirationβ says Mascolino.
Β
βTo lead a team, you must be able to inspire a team,βΒ said Mascolino, who began his first responder career with the Glenwood Fire Department in 1990.Β βAnd leadership is also about knowing how to deploy that team, their training, and other resources in an emergency situation.β
