Fireworks Near Me: Chicago Heights' 4th Of July 2020
Patch has your guide to Fourth of July fireworks shows, parades and other festive events near Chicago Heights.
CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events. Chicago Heights earlier this month announced it has canceled its summer events, including its Spectacular Fireworks.
Here are a few options for Chicago Heights residents who may want to travel elsewhere in the south suburbs:
- In Orland Park, there's a concert planned for 7:30 p.m. on July 4 at Centennial Park before fireworks are set to explode around 9:30 p.m.
- Romeoville is having fireworks in three different parts of the village to make it easier to practice social distancing during the popular crowd-gathering event.
- Another fireworks show appears to be on in Mokena.
- A parade for essential workers will take place in lieu of a fireworks show in New Lenox.
Due to the pandemic, counties or cities may adjust or cancel events at the last minute. Check your event before you go. Know of other events in the area? Post them on the Patch calendar or share details on our free Neighbor Post feature.
