Five Chicago Heights Students Named Illinois State Scholars

These Marian Catholic seniors are part of an elite group.

Β Β recently announced that 48 members of the Class of 2012 earned recognition as Illinois State Scholars.

Five of those students are from right here in the Heights.

Michelle Longo,Β Kelly Foley,Β David Tiberi,Β Robert Cifelli andΒ Thomas Ryan all share the distinct honor of beingΒ in the top 10 percent of the state’s more than 135,000 graduating seniors.Β

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission uses standardized test scores and class rank toΒ recognize Illinois high school students for outstanding academic achievement.
