The Trailways bus hit a sign just before 7 a.m. in the inbound lanes near Damen Avenue, according to State Police. Inbound travel times on I-55 are close to 40 minutes as of 9:30 a.m.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for northern Illinois as freezing rain and sleet falls heavily in some areas, causing icy and slick conditions on many roads. Light snow is being reported in DuPage County and the near west Cook County suburbs.

Travelers at O’Hare and Midway Airports are experiencing significant trouble, with 250 flights cancelled at O’Hare and 80 cancelled at Midway this morning.
