Heights Man Goes on Wild Ride in Indiana

A Chicago Heights man was arrested in Indiana after one of his passengers called the police on him while he stopped at a gas station, according to the Northwest Indiana Times.

Dante Theus, 27, had recently picked up two passengers in South Holland early Sunday morning with intention to go to Sauk Village, but he made a wrong turn on the highway, according to the report. When the passengers told him to turn around, he started driving faster. 

Theus eventually stopped at a gas station, and that’s when one of the passenger’s called the police, claiming that his driving was putting their lives in danger, according to the report.

Police caught up to Theus and pulled him over in the 6200 block of U.S. 20. Cops say he was acting hostile and suspected he was drinking, but Theus refused to submit any tests to prove it, reports say. A warrant was eventually obtained to test Theus’ blood for alcohol at a local hospital.

Theus was charged with two counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and resisting arrest.
