Man Stabbed In Targeted Attack In Steger: Police
One man was stabbed and one woman was injured in a fight that broke out on Wallace Avenue in Steger Wednesday night.
STEGER, IL β One man was stabbed and one woman injured after a fight broke out in front of a home Wednesday night on Wallace Avenue. Steger police said that the man and woman were sitting in a car just before midnight on the 3500 block of Wallace Avenue when they were approached by two men and a woman they knew. A fight broke out among the man in the car and the people who approached him.
During the fight, the man, 22, was stabbed several times. He was taken to Franciscan Health Olympia Fields then transported to John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago to be treated for the stab wounds.
The woman in the car tried to break up the fight and was punched in the face while doing so. She was treated and released from Franciscan Health.

None of the people involved were identified by police. Authorities said they believe it was a targeted attack. An investigation is ongoing.
