Matteson Man Found Shot To Death Inside Car In Park Forest Lot: Police

Officials said the 23-year-old man's Sunday evening death was ruled a homicide. His name has not been released.

PARK FOREST, IL — A 23-year-old Matteson man was found shot to death in a parked car Sunday evening in Park Forest, police told Patch.

According to police, a concerned resident called officers after seeing a man slumped behind the wheel of a car parked in a lot at 3466 Western Avenue.

When police arrived around 6:30 p.m., they found the young man dead inside the car. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, the man died as a result of "multiple gunshot wounds." Officials had not released the man's identity as of Tuesday.

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is assisting the Park Forest Police Department in investigating the death, which was ruled a homicide.
