Michael Anthony Moruzi

Michael Anthony Moruzi, age 62, formerly of Joliet, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at his home in Peotone. Michael was born on May 8, 1961 the son of the late Richard J. and Lillian M. (nee Mandel) Moruzi. Born and raised in Joliet, he was a graduate of Joliet East High School with the Class of 1979. Michael retired from Gulf Great Lakes Packaging in 2015 after a long, dedicated career as a Field Service Technician.

Michael will be remembered as a man that could fix anything, a “jack of all trades”. A simple man, but always a perfectionist with everything he did. He loved fast cars and motorcycles.

Michael was a loving father and grandfather, survived by his son, Andrew (Stephanie) Moruzi; daughter, Michaella (Tom) Jankuc; grandkids, Wyatt, Sophia, and Tucker Moruzi; and his longtime dear friends, the late J.R. Jennings and his wife, Beth.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Moruzi; his parents; and his siblings, Richard Moruzi and Debora Moruzi.

Funeral Services for Michael Anthony Moruzi will be held privately by the family and interment will be held at Elmhurst Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
