Prairie State Community College Operates Remote For Week
Officials said the move was out of caution due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in the south suburbs. Students don't start class until Jan. 18.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — Prairie State College officials announced Monday the school would operate remotely during staff's first week back from winter break.
The Chicago Heights-based community college operated remotely from Jan. 3 - 7, according to a social media statement. While classes don't begin for students until Jan. 18, officials said students could make virtual appointments with counselors to register for classes and schedule in-person appointments if needed.
Campus officials said in the statement the decision came "out of an abundance of caution" due to a rise in COVID-19 cases throughout the south suburbs.
