Return of the Wonderful Whiz Kids

The kids are headed back to school this week. Let's give them some community encouragement

As I dropped off my little guy for his first day of third grade, I was reminded of all the awesome faces we saw last school year.

Our Whiz Kids feature introduced the community to some pretty amazing young people.

First there was , a chess champ from that attributed his successes to a lack of cockiness.

And what about ? He got to spend four months working as a page for U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.

We had plenty of other Whiz Kids last school year and we plan to have much more, but we need your help. There are tons of great young kids and teens in Chicago Heights, Olympia Fields and South Chicago Heights, and they all deserve the spotlight for their efforts, so let's make it happen.
