South Heights Library Hosts Workshop For Immigrants And Refugees

The Illinois Welcoming Center is a state-backed event designed to help immigrants, refugees and others learn how to be thriving residents.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL β€” Immigrants, refugees and those new to the state can sign up to learn about services that are available to help make them thriving residents of Illinois. The event is Tuesday.

They can do that at an informational event about the Illinois Welcoming Center, a state grant-funded project administered by Aunt Martha's social services agency. It is designed to help those groups of people, particularly those with limited English abilities, to become socially and economically self-sufficient.

The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tues., April 23 at the Steger-South Chicago Heights Library at 54 E 31st St. in Steger. Space is still available. Register in person or call 708-755-5040 to sign up.
