South Suburban Charity Hosts First Ever Conference For Women Veterans
The fair is slated to host vendors and representatives from mental health, employment, beauty and faith-based organizations on April 30.
CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — A conference for women veterans is coming to Richton Park in late April. The fair aims to promote resources for women who have served in the U.S. Military and provide a space for female veterans to bond, event officials told Patch.
The conference takes place Saturday, April 30 at the Richton Park Village Hall.
According to an organizer for the event, spokespeople from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Chicago Heights Vet Center and other counseling and career vendors will be available. The entire list ranges from faith-based services to beauty programs designed for women who have served.

"The purpose of this event will be to honor the contributions of women veterans and encourage them to strive towards their greatness and harness their innate creative gifts to improve their lives and their circumstances," an event listing from 100 Pretty Purses for Female Veterans, a conference sponsor, read.
The south suburban-based foundation said they expect around 300 veterans to be present at the fair. In order to plan for keynote speakers, education breakout sessions and lunch, all those interested are encouraged to purchase tickets online.

All female veterans from all branches of the military are welcome, an event organizer told Patch.
