SUNDAY, JAN. 6

Beaten and Robbed While Driving

A 43-year-old man told police he was driving north on East End Avenue near Main Street when a man he knows as "Black" flagged him down. The man stopped and let in Black, who he knows from parole classes, according to the report. 

Black then hit the man in the head, took his phone and tried to take his keys before getting out of the vehicle and running north on East End, the man told police.

Burglary No. 2

A 41-year-old Chicago Heights man told police someone burglarized his Ashland Avenue home sometime between Jan. 2 and Jan. 6. The items taken include a Sony Playstation Portable, a Nintendo 3DS, a silver iPod Nano, a carpet shampooer, a gold necklace and costume jewelry. The thief also made off with $300 in cash from a black box and a piggy bank, according to the report. Police said there were no signs of forced entry but did discover an unlocked bedroom window. The man said his garage was broken into last month, with several tools, a bike and a generator being taken in that incident. The man said he did not report that incident because he believes it was a former employee of his business.

Steak Knife Tire Slash

Alexis Oliver, 18, of the 1900 block of Campbell Avenue, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to a vehicle after a 21-year-old Alsip woman told police Oliver slashed the rear driver side tire on her vehicle for no apparent reason. Oliver said she did the slashing with a steak knife because she was upset with the other woman over "relationship issues," according to the report. Police said the were unable to recover the knife used in the incident."

MONDAY, DEC. 31

Crazy Cousin

A 32-year-old Steger woman told police she was driving on Halsted Street near Prairie State College when her cousin drove toward her very quickly in a Dodge Charger, nearly striking her vehicle from behind. The cousin then moved over to the side of her vehicle and gave her the middle finger before taking pictures of her with a cell phone, according to the report. The cousin then cut in front of the woman's vehicle, cutting her off and causing her to slam on her brakes. The cousin continued to cut in the front of the woman as they traveled northbound on Halsted, according to the report.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 29

Employee 'Misplaces' More Than $10,000

A woman, who worked at a Chicago Heights loan store, quit her job after another employee asked her what she did with more than $10,500 of the business's cash.
