Firefighters Investigate Blaze At Manufacturing Plant
No one was injured in the fire at Vorteq Coil Finishers, at 15920 Nelson Road in unincorporated Woodstock, Tuesday night.

WOODSTOCK, IL — No one was injured in a blaze that started at a manufacturing plant near Woodstock Tuesday night.
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to the fire at Vorteq Coil Finishers, at 15920 Nelson Road in unincorporated Woodstock, at about 7:40 p.m., according to a news release from the fire/rescue district. An initial 911 call was placed by an employee inside the plant regarding a "visible fire" and smoke that was filling the facility.
When firefighters arrived they found no visible smoke or flames from the exterior of the large commercial structure. Crews entered the building, which was filled with smoke, and worked quickly to locate the origin of the fire, according to a news release.

Firefighters found the fire in the ceiling area near an exhaust vent before it could spread further and were able to clear the scene by 9:12 p.m., fire officials said.
"The plant continued operations once we cleared," said Alex Vucha, public information officer with the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District. "Only the affected machine was shut down until repairs could be made."

All plant employees were evacuated prior to the fire department's arrival, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
