Flood Warning Remains in Effect for Fox River

Flooding could occur along the Fox River from Red Gate Road in St. Charles continuing south to Millington, according to weather officials.

ST. CHARLES, IL -- A flood warning remains in effect for the Fox River from Red Gate Road in St. Charles continuing south to Millington. As of 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, the river in Montgomery was at 12.8 feet. Flood stage is 13 feet, according to the National Weather Service.

The river is expected to rise to flood stage Friday morning.

When the river reaches 13 feet, minor lowland flooding begins near the river, according to weather officials. In Algonquin, the river was also nearing flood stage and was at 9.12 feet as of 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Flood stage is 9.5 feet.

More rain and thunderstorms are in the forecast for later in the afternoon and into the evening on Wednesday and on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
