Authorities say the 23-year-old woman has been arrested.

Authorities say a woman was arrested after she got into a road rage incident and struck a man with her car, injuring him, after following another driver to their home in Cary.

Annelise Kracinski, 23, of Cary, was charged with one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a Class 3 felony. A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court said the incident happened around 10 a.m. Saturday.

Kracinski was driving a 2019 Subaru SUV and used it as a deadly weapon when she struck a male victim, the complaint said. The complaint said Kracinski’s vehicle struck both of the victim’s legs, causing a large laceration on his right shin.

The complaint said the victim also suffered bruising on both knees.

Cary Deputy Police Chief Scott Naydenoff said the incident began as road rage on New Haven Drive in Cary. An argument occurred between Kracinski and another motorist.

One of the motorists drove home to their residence and was followed by Kracinski.

A family member became involved in the argument and was the one that Kracinski struck with her vehicle, Naydenoff said. The adult male was struck by the Subaru in the parkway in the 1300 block of Mulberry Lane in Cary.

The man’s injuries were not serious and he refused medical treatment, Naydenoff said. Kracinski was arrested and transported to the McHenry County Jail for a first appearance hearing.

Prosecutors filed a petition to detain Kracinski pre-trial, calling her a threat to the safety of the community.

McHenry County Judge Cynthia Lamb denied the request and allowed Kracinski to be released from jail.

Kracinski is scheduled to appear in court again on October 24 for a status of preliminary hearing.
