3 Car Break-Ins In Darien Neighborhood: Cops
Burr Ridge also reported a rash of vehicle burglaries around the same time.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their weekly blotter on Thursday. Here is information from the reports:
Car break-ins
- About 5 a.m. Friday, an officer patrolling at the Extended Stay America hotel, 2345 Sokol Court, saw a car with a broken passenger-side rear window. Another responding officer spotted a second car with a broken window. Later, a car window was reported broken nearby at a house in the 9200 block of Waterfall Glen Boulevard. Around the same time, Burr Ridge received 15 reports of car burglaries, mainly at hotels.

- About 3 a.m. Tuesday, a person at Extended Stay America, 2345 Sokol Court, heard a noise outside his window and noticed that his driver's side mirror was gone.
Retail theft
- A 21-year-old Downers Grove man was cited about 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a retail theft charge. Police said he was concealing items under his clothing. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

- A Darien resident who lives in the 1500 block of Lakeview Drive was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of Plainfield Road on two out-of-county warrants charging probation violations. An officer stopped the man because he was riding a moped with no license plate. He was charged with driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured car and having no license plate. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
