3 Darien Domestic Battery Arrests: Cops

One of the suspects lives in a local neighborhood, police said.

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving domestic battery, burglary and DUI. Here is information from the latest reports:

Domestic battery

  • A 69-year-old Darien man who lives in the 1500 block of Darien Lake Drive was arrested about 2 a.m. Monday at his home on a domestic battery charge. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 23-year-old man who lives in WoodSpring Suites hotel, 951 N. Frontage Road in Darien, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Saturday on two counts of domestic battery. Police said the incident occurred at the hotel. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 37-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, both from Hillside, were arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday at Speedway gas station, 7502 Cass Ave., on domestic battery charges. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Burglary

  • About 3:30 a.m. Friday, a resident in the 1400 block of Lakeview Drive heard glass breaking. He saw two men – one with a mask, the other dressed in black – inside a car trying to steal it, police said. Arrested were Corbin Poindexter, 25, of Chicago, and Owen Ensslin, 20, of Fox River Grove, on burglary charges. They were taken to the Cook County Jail.

DUI

  • An 18-year-old Downers Grove man was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Friday on charges of DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, speeding, driving an uninsured car, improper lane usage, unlawful possession of marijuana and consumption of liquor by a minor. Police said an officer saw the man cross the double yellow lines at Plainfield Road and 75th Street. The man was released and given a date to appear in court.
