Alleged Threat Made At Darien School: Police

Police are also looking into a battery involving two students at the school, an official said.

DARIEN, IL – A student is suspected of making a threat last week at Eisenhower Junior High School in Darien, a matter that is under investigation, local police said.

Officers have confirmed the student has no access to guns, Deputy Police Chief Austin Jump said in an email to Patch on Tuesday.

He said police are working with school officials to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Last Tuesday, officers were made aware of a battery involving two Eisenhower students that took place the previous day at Darien Community Park, Jump said. A short video of the incident was shared with the police.

After reviewing the video and speaking with witnesses, local police referred the case to DuPage County prosecutors, Jump said.

He said police would give updates as appropriate.

In a statement to Patch on Wednesday, Robert Langman, superintendent of Darien District 61, said the situation was investigated and that there was no danger to students or staff.
