Darien Man Threatens Gun On Neighbors: Police
A 22-year-old man got into a fight with a neighbor more than twice his age, authorities said.

DARIEN, IL – A Darien man who fought with his neighbor earlier this month threatened that he would return with a gun, local police said.
The 22-year-old was charged with battery, criminal property damage, assault and disorderly conduct.

According to the report, the 22-year-old drove past his 57-year-old neighbor's house on Brewer Road about 4:30 p.m. March 14, honking at him.

The neighbor told officers that the 22-year-old was "talking sh–" to him.
Then the 22-year-old threatened to hit a 55-year-old woman who was with the neighbor, with a video showing him posturing as if to attack her, police said.
Then the neighbor fought the 22-year-old, struggling on the ground at one point, police said. The woman and the neighbor's 34-year-old son joined in by kicking the 22-year-old, police said.
Police said they obtained audio of the 22-year-old saying, "I'm gonna come back with a .38 and kill all of you, all three of you."
By the time the 22-year-old returned, police arrived. They said they found no weapon on him.
After passing his neighbor's house, the suspect said the neighbor shouted at him to "come down here." The 22-year-old said the neighbor had called his mother a "fat c--t" in the past, police said. He also said the differences with the neighbors were because of his father's past with them and that they were his father's problem.
The suspect said he knew the neighbor was Italian and figured that the neighbor would want to have a conversation, police said. The suspect said the neighbor asked him whether he wanted to hit him, police said.
The neighbor had blood on his forehead and right cheek, while the suspect's injuries included redness on the face and bruising on the left side of his head and left side of his torso, police said.
The 22-year-old was released on his own recognizance.
