Darien Residents Can Recycle Holiday Lights
All light colors and strand lengths will be accepted.

The City of Darien has partnered with Elgin Recycling to offer residents free recycling of holiday lights.
Lights may be brought to the Darien Police Department lobby at 1710 Plainfield Road, Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lights will be collected through Feb. 8.
Last year, Darien residents recycled 1922 pounds of holiday lights, keeping them from a landfill. The city made a profit of $153.76.

All light colors and strand lengths will be accepted. Items include mini-lights (Italian lights), C7 lights, C9 lights, rope lights, LED lights and extension cords - no CFLs. Only lights and not boxes or bags should go into the bin.
